Does anyone have a suggestion on how to avoid the incredibly high maintenance contract costs that BEA charges for WebLogic? After buying a clustered version of the WL and paying maintenance costs of up to 20k per year, we are looking for a way to avoid these costs in the future. One of our ideas was to hire a third party company who could ask questions, get patches etc. if needed. Is this kosher? And if not how do others handle this situation. I know that everyone using WL is not ponying up the cash...
