Hi,
I have just downloaded WL 6.1 from BEA's site. From what I can see, it looks as if it is possible to run multiple domains on the one code base. This is quite interesting for us because at the moment, we are using a windows version of weblogic 5.1 to do our development on. We would actually prefer to do the development on a test system on the aix machines that we run on production. Does anyone know if we would have any difficulty setting up 3 domains on a unix copy of weblogic that we can be guaranteed will not conflict with the backup production domain running on the same machine? Does anyone develop like this? Thanks a lot.

Yes setting up mulitiple Domains in WebLogic is very easy. This is what we do. I have one test machine that runs three separate instances of WebLogic as three separate Domains. This allows us to place the Development, Staging, and Production mirror (used for bug fixes on the production codebase). This has worked out good for us because none of these instances is ever going to be pegged very hard and it would be a waste to use three separate machines.

The only thing you need to do is ensure that the separate instances are listening on different ports (obviously).
