We have what we call ad-hoc Webi reports that are saved with no data in them and are set to refresh on opening. This gives the user the ability to select the prompts that they require and run the report.

We have noticed that these reports take a while to open to the prompts and on further investigation have worked out that there are a lot of SELECT DISTINCT queries going on in the database to populate the prompt boxes with available options for the prompts.

Is there a way of disabling this so that the reports open and display a stored list of values rather than going back to the database to recreate the list.

If this is possible is there a way of refreshing the list of values on say a daily basis (at night) so that the LOV is always up to date.

Thanks

I can only address the first one. I would suggest changing the LOVs to that they do not do a Select Distinct. This is only necessary if you are not using a normalized database. You should also set the LOV so that they don't refresh automatically.
