Hi Guys,

We have implemented WEBI on a HP-UX 11.0 server combined with Apache 1.3.20. The performance is like hell! When we use BO Full Client on the same Oracle database, we get a response within five seconds. When we use WEBI we have to wait for at least 10 minutes.

Please read the following posting, it is not mine, found in web.

thanks
Immas

Hi,

We are using Infoview on Sun E450. Performance appears slow but we have not tuned the machine at all yet. Your performance issue is difficult to
understand without more information. Some things to check: quick things
- Is swap mapped to /tmp and are the internet log files also being written to /tmp. - regularly clear out /tmp
- check that there are enough semaphores for the applications that you are running - up the number of semaphores
- check that there are no dead semaphores (ipcs command) - need root level accesses to check this stuff out properly and generally occur if performing kill -9 on processes
- check free memory, etc to check out memory leaks
- check processes running on box when stuff is happening (ie run script that captures TOP and PS - ef when running queries)

slow things
- what operating system are using ?- change to Solaris 8 which looks to have best performance for web apps
- get decent performance monitoring tool - BMC patrol, Sysmon, etc

Hope this helps

Derek
