I'm sure you are all using this, but for those that are not, I have found some cool things in Web Elements. Since it is free, you can't beat it!

Hi,

I recently downloaded the WebElements 2.0 elements (zip), and followed the instruction manual, but as all BOBJ instructions this leaves much room for improvment. It certainly seems like its very useful, if I can only get the &**"! thing to work. Any ideas.

Has anyone been working with Webelements?
There is limited support and the docs are just ok.

I've gotten some of them to work with some tweaking and trial and error and they're pretty cool.

If we could get more people working with them, we could make them really rock.

I must admit, they look really cool - but after myself, and a number of Business Object cert colsultants could just not get them to work, I have now given up.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Sorry to hear that. I'm more of a Crystal Reports guru than BO and we've been told that we're on our own for WE.

I think I've made good progress in getting some of them to work and do what we want to do. I have a ways to go and it feels like I'm putting a watch together in a coal mine with no lights on.

I'll just keep plugging along and wait until they catch on with more people.

I have tried to do simply WE things over the Xtreme database, but still no luck. Do you perhaps have a simply Xtreme based report which I can publich to BOExi, so that I can see where the problem lies?

All the reports I have so far use a proprietary db, however, I've got to do a demo in a couple of weeks and one of the samples I'll create will use Xtreme. I'll send you a copy when I get done.

thanks mate
