Not sure if this would be the correct forum and appoligize if not. I am looking to install a webcam on top of our building and would like to find out the hardware necessary. We would like to monitor the weather condition and provide this to our guests. I'd like to find a simple setup perhaps a camera that can hold it's own ip address. We do not host the web site localy therefore providing an ip address to our webdesigner and point their code to that ip would be desired.

Thanks in advance.

If you are going to install a camera outside it needs to be a professional grade in an enviromental housing. We use Pelco products primarily. They have a new product that takes a composite video signal and converts it to Ethernet so you can put it on your network. Are you in a hotel? You can also buy a RF system modulator so that the camera images would show up on one of your cable channels. Get in touch with a company that installs comercial grade security systems. They will be your best bet to install a quality camera and keep it serviced for you.
