Hello,
I've bought 2 webcams to use with 2 Windows 2003 Servers. I'm uploading the 2 pictures to a webserver every 5 minutes.
The pictures get uploaded fine for about 3 days. After that, the driver seems to disappear in the Windows "Devices Manager":

But if I click on "Driver Details", it still sees the driver:
webcam2.gif

Well after a restart of my system, the driver is there again, and my webcams works for another 3 days:

Does anyone have a clue about what the reason for this could be?
Thanks for any Ideas!
Lucas

Could be the onboard USB drivers need updating. Have you tried the webcams on different machines?

Hi kestrel1, thansk for your answer.
I have indeed tried it on different machines: A very powerful rack-server and an old non-rack-server: Same problem on both machines...

Have you tried getting updated drivers for the webcam? & the onboard USB ports?
Is this USB1.1 or USB2?

It's USB 1, not 2.
There are no other drivers for the webcam available (is up to date) and the Motherboard USB Ports don't have drivers (these come from windows xp).

Are you able to try a different make of webcam? If another make works then get the others replaced.
