Webcam (built-in) as video recorder - best software?

I have a laptop with built in webcam. I forgot my cam-corder, so it occurred to me that it might be helpful as a backup to use the webcam as camcorder.

Any ideas?

Yawcam - yet another web cam - works very well with video capture sofware such as Camstudio (free ver).

Sorry, this is totally unnecessary...but I got an image of someone holding a notebook and trying to aim the camera with it amongst a group of paparazzi (and how this would appear to the subject) and had to smile ...

amongst"? Among? Tony get real. Yawcam works great for our user group with Camstudio for recording. I think you are just biased. Do what you want. I prefer Yawcam - it works!

davegmail...I was not putting down your suggestion of using Yawcam, Camstudion, or anything at all to do with your posts. I just had a funny (to me) mental image and had to share. Either that or get back to work. I guess I'll get back to work. Sorry if I offended you.
