Morning All

I have a query on the WebAccess timeout function.

When you login to WebAccess and don’t do anything for the amount of time specified in the timeout length your screen will remain the same irrespective of being logged out in the background and is only when you try to do anything else that you are prompted for your login name and password.

Is it possible for the page to be changed back to the login screen at the timeout period?

I.e. whatever is on the screen at the timeout stays on the screen and if there is info there it is possible for someone to see it and even just see your folder layout etc!!!!

I have researched this but haven’t found an answer yet hopefully someone her might be able to help

Cheers

In my experience, at least with GroupWise 7, when it times out and asks for your credentials, you don't lose your work like you did in previous versions. You just login and then whatever you were trying to do originally gets processed.. for example, sending that long email.

If there is a way to do what you are looking for, it's probably a custom development item and is going to be difficult to pull off, and then it will void any support for your GroupWise installation.

You may just want to increase the timeout value to something longer. There are two places - one on the WebAccess agent, one on the WebAccess Application (NDS Object, not visible in GroupWise view)

Thanks for the info. Not sure I have explained myself properly though.

It like the Halifax website I visit to check my bank account, if I leave it to timeout it will change the page back to the login screen so there is nothing for anybody to see i.e. if I leave it on my statement page and it times out then the page will change to the login one so no personal info can be looked at.

So---

If I open a email open on WebAccess and the timeout happens then the email page stays there and is on view to anybody that can see the screen, what I would like to try and do is change the page back to the login screen so no personal details can be viewed.

Hope this is a bit clearer

Oh ok that’s a shame i would have thought that it was a standard option but there you go.

Yes have seen and deployed that screen saver a few times on unsuspecting people who refuse to save stuff on the network and on there local drive instead, it made them change there mind pretty sharpish!!!!

Thanks for your help on this
