hi,

I'm trying to set up rules on an NS5 to allow incoming connections *if* the user is authorized. I created the user, configure the policies, but cannot telnet or connect to port 80 from the outside. What am I missing? I have not found any documentation about this.

anyone made this work and can share a quick howto?

thanks in advance,
pablo.

You need to setup a VIP or MIP on the NS5 and the destination in the policy should be the VIP or MIP setting.

I've done that. Actually, I disabled auth and the rule is working.
If I enable auth, I assume I have to point a browser or open a telnet session to the box to authenticate, and that's what does not work.

Are you using Auth or Web Auth?

Are you using a local database or an External Radius LDAP database.

What do the logs say?
How did you set up the users?

Does the rule include TELNET FTP or HTTP as a service. If your using WebAuth did you configure the IP address of the WEBAUTH site.
