Guys,

Does anyone know of a site where I can submit a URL to get reviewed. Basically, I submit my URL and they return with a critical analysis of the site. Mise Le Meas,

Mighty :)

Not that I can think of. I'll give you a review though. But I'm honest. ~Javrix

If you gave an infinate number of rednecks, an infinate number of shotguns to shoot at an infinate number of street signs, they would eventually write Romeo and Juliet in braille.

Javrix,

My situation is that I have just joined a small company which has a website that was designed by the Managing Director. I want to change the design and we are having a difference of opinion. I need some independent opinions so that it not just me against him. The website is:

Be as critical as you like. Mise Le Meas,

Mighty :)

Ok, so what do you want me to review? Do you want my opinion on the entire layout, how it should improve?

I'll look at it now and tell you in a few minutes. ~Javrix

Javrix,

Just give me your honest opinion on the site content and design. I am leaving work now and it will be tomorrow before I get back to you on your comments.

Thanks for taking the time. Mise Le Meas,

Ok, just a few little things first:

-The bottom "interactive client area". In the onmouseover, make the i on interactive capitalized.

-The images on the left, ClearStream Home, etc., make the images transparent. The white background of each image makes it look chunky.

-The left side next to the chunky images, you have some words capatilized and others not. You need to be consistant. If you capitalize "Releases" and "Home", you should capitalize "us". And at least capitalize the "career".

-The images on the right (the "map") are a little chunky. I would redo them in a vector program, like adobe illustrator, to smoothen them out.

I'm on a T1, but I notice you have a lot of javascript or java things going on. This might lag the site on a modem.

I'm not one for frames, but you make good use of them. I would probably kill the top right frame though. Kind of a big logo too.

Alot of text. Maybe a little too much text. The only images you have are on the left, logo, and the map. And they're all just basic shapes. I would probably kill the links on the left. It's nice how they work, but I would change them to graphics and kill the scrollbar. No one likes a scrollbar in the middle of the page.

It looks nice though. Maybe a little too much grey.

In Netscape 4.7 and 6.0, you don't get the 3D look on the bottom left.

In Netscape 4.7, it took 20 seconds to look all the javascript stuff. That's not good of all. ~Javrix

Javrix,

Thanks for taking the time to look at the site.
If it was my choice, which sadly it isn't, I would get rid of the frames comletely, change the navigation to have just one navigation section (rather than the 3 with this design) and change the background colour from the Grey. That's just a start. And of course get rid of the search at the top beside the logo. Mise Le Meas,

Mighty :)
