Web Site Review - Site "Almost" Done 5

We are about to launch our new site but before I do i wanted to get some thoughts on the use of link popup tips.

If you mouse over the image links on the left or the image links on the top you will see the popup text I am talking about.

When I first added it I liked it but now I am finding it very annoying.

Comment on any part of the design you want to but I am looking for thoughts on the popups primarily.

BTW, not all the side links work, please don't beat me up about those. As I said, the side is not launched yet. I have to burn some midnight oil to get it finished.

I see what you mean about the pop ups being annoying. I think it's because they follow the mouse. Maybe (and I'm not sure if you can do this) you could have them staying in one place and the text changing or them just popping up in one place for each link rather than following the mouse around (i.e. each one pops up underneath the relevant link but doesn't move).

Yup, I like shmmeee's idea, too. They are annoying because you don't know what to do with 'em and they seem to get in the way. My first inclination when I saw these things on another site was that they were submenus. I tried to move my mouse over them to select and of course they ran away.

They may have specific applications where they are helpful, but barring some sort of shmmeee-like implementation, I say lose 'em!

Great looking site, though, and I'm sure I'll be a regular there. Nice work.

I haven't find any popups on the left because probably they are off now.
BUT top menus make error ("AUTOSTATUS is undefined&quot when I mouseover it. Please note it.
