I have a client who have some problems visiting their website from within their hq , the doain name for their internal network is the same as the website address ie mycompany.org, we have an a record created on the windwos dns server that points to that works fine they have recently had a new website designed and since then when they try and access the website internally they get a text version of the website but anywhere else the website displays as it should, they also are asked to login to the website when they try to visit it internally Turning off integrated Windows Authentication in IE gets rid of the login prompt, but the website remains as text., any one got any ideas because this has totally stumped me.

windows Domain name = mycompany.org
website name = mycompany.org
windows dns entry (a record) for www

Does the newly designed site have graphics or other pictures located on another server? that the original translation of cannot get to from inside their network? is there a subpage that needs to also be defined in DNS, such as graphics.mycompany.org?

Hi Thanks for the reply, i have had some feedback from the web dev guys who say the original website used " wherein the new site is specifically using "mycompany.org" in it's
configuration so i guess that's what is causing the problem but i don't have a clue how i am going to resolve it.

You do have a problem. If the name was different from your domain, life would be simple.

Wonder if you can change the IIS on the DC/server that is mycomany.org and forward that IIS request to the URL
Otherwise, make them require an option to get to the website. Access by mycompany.org or is hosting this can make this happen. Then keep your in tack.

Thanks for your help with this TechyMcSe2k after much bashing of heads i finally got the web dev guys to write a script to call when is called, something like this....

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ [R=301,L]

all is fine now. thanks
