Currently we have an existing T1 with 14 IP addresses. Our website and mail are already configured for this; the router being used is a 3640.

We are about to get a DS3 connection using a 7204. We will have a new subnet with 200 addresses.

Does anyone know a way to move the existing subnet over to the new DS3 without major disruption to the Website or having to change Public DNS information? The DS3 and T1 are coming from the same ISP. Someone else mentioned using BGP.

The final goal will be to have the DS3 as our primary pipe for the webserver and the T1 will be a backup. The public will need access to our webserver and our internal users will be accessing the Internet via a firewall. We have a firewall and the webserver is on the DMZ segment. I have Outside-->DMZ NAT. What would be the best network configuration?

Well if they're giving you 200 new IP's, one way you could do it, is assign a 2ndary IP address to the ethernet interface which you will have to do, or bring another ethernet port online. There really is no real great way of mapping the old IP's to the new or vice versa, the best way would be to make the change overnight.. As for the BGP, in your scenario that is not a good solution. You have no need to have the entire internet routing tables on your routers. You would only need to run BGP if you are using multiple ISP's.. Since you're keeping both links that go to the same ISP it should be possible for them to run something like OSPF so the routes will fall back to the T1 if the DS3 is down..
