The Web Client version used at this site was a pre-GA version - 3.1.0.9.

Description (Problem Clarification)

When accessing the web client via the web, user gets error message - Create Object failure. This is a system-wide issue.
Cause

Memory leaks have been observed in the IIS worker process. These memory leaks could exhaust the memory leading to IIS restarts and Create Object failures. These leaks occur when user does a login/logout and when a directory search is done.
Problem Fix/Workaround/Solution

Work Item wi00025629 addresses the issue. Need to install latest client 3.1.0.56 to fix the issue.Known issue addressed in wi00025629. The web client access will not be available during the period.

Resolution Plan

Install latest client 3.1.0.56.

Uninstall Web-Client:

1.
Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Select 'Avaya Modular Messaging Web Client(TM)' and click the Add/Remove button. Select Remove.

2. Once the software is uninstalled, reboot the web server.

NOTE: Leave the DATA directory (C:\Program Files\Avaya\webmsg\Data) intact after the uninstall as this contains all your administered data.

Install Web-Client:

1.
Install the new Client -3.1.0.56. It is available on the dom-admin logon desktop under folder > MM 3.1 Web Client & WSO.

Run the Setup.exe from the Client folder to install the latest web client version.

NOTE: Do not replace system files newer than source

2. The install will prompt you to reboot your PC. Select 'Yes' and allow the install to reboot the PC for you. After the reboot, several Web Client files will be registered. Wait for this to complete (the DOS window will close when it is complete).
