web server and java?

I am a newbie to java and web server, but has a great interest on both of it.

Could anyone gvie me a suggestion where to start? My goal is to have a webserver to run a server side java code.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apache's Jakarta-Tomcat is probably your best bet to get started. Download for your platform, install, read the docs, write some Servlets or JSPs, and have fun.

rotorblade, thank you for the informaton. I just started tomcat/apache two days agao. Your reply is a great help for assurance.

There is another question I might encounter in the future:

I have a java code to draw/zoom/print/save on an image file interactively. Would it possible that I can reuse and run it on Tomcat.
