I just created my fisrt web page, however, i am unable to make a link for a web search.

I am using front page 2000.

Any thoughts?

Nick

Just a point of procedure, if you are attempting to build your first website with FrontPage, always start with File >> New >> Web. Then you would go to File >> New >> Page each time you add a page to get started.

Additionally, if you are talking about using the built in Search Form included with FrontPage, this would need to be included as a page in the web and published with FrontPage to a server with the FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) installed.

And, as Lillibeth pointed out, it might be helpful to have a better idea of what you are trying to do.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith

Sorry about being vague. I am trying to use the built in search form. Any ideas as to how I go about getting front page server extensions?

Hi Nick,

If you are using a commercial host, you should be able to open your site control panel and have FrontPage as an option. You could then install, reset or reinstall the extensions.

If you are on an Intranet, then you could consult the server administrator.

If this is a published site, then a URL for the problem page would allow us to see if there is a problem wrong with the Search Form settings.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith
