I am testing web reporting using Crystal Reports 8.0. It appears that the web component server or page server is single-threaded. For example, let's say that two users on two PCs have two reports they plan to run. The first report normally takes about 5 minutes, while the second report takes seconds. If I run the first (5 minute report) and then seconds later, run the second (report that takes seconds), the second report will not return data until the first report is finished. However, if I run the short report by itself, the report will return in seconds. Is the Seagate web component server really single-threaded? I need a web reporting system that is capable of approximately 80 concurrent users. Our configuration consists of
- Oracle database on Unix server with Iplanet web server.
- Windows 2000 server with Seagate web component server.
- Crystal Reports 8.0
- Client PCs: WIndows 9X, NT, 2000
If Seagate is multi-threaded, is there something I can do to increase performance. Are there specific .dll's that I need for a multi-thread capability. Thanks in advance for your help.
