i am new to online reporting and thus would like to get a better idea.the reports that i my current project involves are drill down reports
.To explain better,it would be like a online banking system and would be creating operational reports. But i would like to know how that after the reports are created ,
will i be just given a url to submit the reports or does it involve more.
thanks

It depends on how you are going to 'serve' the report and what version of Crystal you are using. Crystal Decisions has 2 server options, The Web Component Server and Crystal Enterprise. With the WCS you can simply pass in the link, or you can program it with ASP.

There are also several third party servers which allow you to control the reports in different ways. These are listed on my web site's links page. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

You can achieve your records by creating a link like in this format :
blah blah/yourreportname.rpt?init=java?user0=<username>?password0=<password>?prompt0=paramater1&prompt1=parameter2....

This URL when activated on a web browser will request the server to get the report in java.If you want use active-x than type init=actx instead of init=java syntax.
