Web Redirectors

Does anyone know of a solution for IIS (for MS DNS) that enables or acts as a web site redirector? For example, my company's domain name is

http://www.example.com.

We also own

http://www.x-ample.com.

We want to have anyone that types in that URL to be redirected to

http://www.example.com.

Any suggestions for doing this? Can it be done from DNS using an alias/CNAME record?

Why not just point both

http://www.example.com

and

http://www.x-ample.com

to the same IP in DNS, and then use the host headers feature to have the same web site listen for requests for both names?
