Can someone Please give me step by step instructions on accessing Web Pro when I am on site?
I have done it a few times and for some reason could not get in today after wasting an amazing amount of time.
Plug in where exactly also??
PC to customer network? or PC to VOIP port on ksu?
Straight thru or X-over cable??

PC to customer network assuming the system is on their LAN. Verify your PC LAN port is on the same subnet as the system.
Open up internet explorer, or firefox, input the ip address of the system, type in the user name and password. Make sure when you log out you go to the home page and log out. DO NOT close the browser, it will lock you out for ~ 5 to 15 minutes unless you perform a system reset.

While it's not applicable in your situation, be aware that if you close your browser and do a system reset, you lose any changes you've made before properly logging off with the LOGOUT button. I tested this with NEC and we were both amazed. Even on V6.

Thank you, phone troll. I do remember NEC tech support telling me that, but needed that reminder.
I still can't get into the damn thing! The system shows the IP when I do the Feature 6, but it is not the correct IP. It has the static IP that the phone company programmed in, i guess. But it is wrong, and I do not know how to find the valid IP without getting into the system, and I can't get into the system without a valid IP. Chasing my tail.
My PC Pro software is not the correct version, I have to get in through Web Pro. I only have the PC Pro for my SL1100 systems.

I suggest you download a copy of the newest version of PCPro. Older versions will not connect to newer software and the same may be true for WEBPro.

Webpro doesn't care about version #.

I always tag my gear with the IP address. Have you looked high and low for a label?

Are you able to view the subnet and gateway via feature 6? You could use a small 4 port switch and then hardcode your IP address on your laptop to the same range, with the same subnet and gateway. I'll give an example/question below:

Do you have an unused VoIP card installed? We've run into situations where we've lost connection via the standard NIC and an installed but unused VOIP card. The VOIP card has the default IP -- 192.168.0.10 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. We'd use the small 4 port switch and then hardcode our laptop IP address to the same range, such as 192.168.0.11 with the same subnet.

I will try that. I see there are 3 ports to use, 2 ethernet and 1 VOIP. Yes, there is an unused VOIP card. The Feature 6 IP is the one that Telco must have put in because they had the system plugged into a Cisco switch, or router, not sure. but that has all been abandoned. telset shows 10.192.6.130 and 192.168.0.10 the default. But these do not work. The actual customer network is on the 192.168.1.XXX subnet. So frustrating, once I get in, I'm golden, but until then I am just banging my head on the wall.
As with any system, brings back BCM memories.......

Remove the system LAN + VoIP ports from the customer LAN. Connect your PC directly to each of the system ports one at a time. This isolates the system form all external devices. Hard code your PC LAN port to the same subnet as the system. Ping the address. With a direct connection and your PC on the same subnet you should be able to connect.
Is it possible that the system IP address was changed and a reset was not done? This would give you erroneous IP information.
I am pretty sure WEBPro and the version are related, but I may be confusing that with another system type.
I would always go with the latest version available just in case.

belevedere -- you are right. Webpro uses whatever version of firmware is installed onto the switch. So, when I say that it doesn't matter, I mean that the Webpro will always work.

I get my PCPro from NEC directly and they download from NTAC.

Straight thru cable? Where is the gateway info?
F6 only shows the IPs real quick.
Maybe I should be putting in a different gateway.
So let me get this straight before I go back.
You said "Hard code your PC LAN port to the same subnet as the system."
But I do not know the system IP.
1. Plug my laptop and the system into the 5 port switch, NOT into the customer network.
2. Do an IP config.
3. Set my laptop to that IP
4. Try to ping what IP? How many subnets are there to try to ping on the 5 port switch?

OR
Plug my laptop into the system ports and then do an ip config?
Sorry, it's late, my brain is fried.
Thank you for your patience and advice, much appreciated!!

F6 should show the IP address recognized by the system. I would first reboot the system. Check F6, then connect directly. Do not specify a gateway in your PC to start. Since you are not going through a network it may not matter. Hard code an address close to the one found in F6 (set your PC LAN connection to a static address with a SNM 255.255.255.0) with no gateway. Bring up a CMD in windows and try to ping your address then the system address. If all of this fails and nobody knows the IP address of the system then you may have no choice but to default the system and reprogram (assuming there is no back up). If they have a back up you can open it up with PCPro, log in and see all of the program.

I have rebooted, no change on F6. Ok, I will try these things. I only have the option of using WebPro in this instance. My PCPro is invalid for this system.

Do you know how to access the system programming via a telephone? If so, log in and confirm the IP address programming in 10-12-01 and 10-12-02 for the LAN port or 10-12-09 and 10-12-10 for the VOIP Port.

You should be able to log in via either port.

Yes, I do. Thank you, I will try that. Going back on site in a couple of days.

I got in through, I had put the wrong subnet mask on my PC!
I was able to change the port and get it programmed and working but for some reason, in the basic programming, 15-01, I think. I was not able to change the name in the area for NAME. I was able to erase the old one (GuestRm 256), but I could not APPLY the new name (GuestRm 131). It just kept giving me the message "Enter Characters" "Ok" or "Cancel". I was not using too many characters. No idea why it would not take my new info!!

I did go into telset programming, I have not had much experience with that though.
I need to find what keys do what functions.
It would be great if someone could give me that info.
SPEAKER is SAVE DATA, TRANSFER is the same as HOLD on the SL1100, I believe?
Help!

Try GuestRm_131, I think it doesn't like spaces.
You could also download a multiline user guide. It shows you how to do names at the phone.
TRF is the write data key, hold is for the sl1100. You can find this info in the programming manual. Programming through the phone is very cumbersome.

"It just kept giving me the message "Enter Characters" "Ok" or "Cancel".

I'm pretty sure you'll have better luck if you try a different browser.
Firefox seems to work for me.

It is just that every other room, all 85 of them were labeled exactly the same but it would not take my info.
Yes, the telset programming seemed pretty cumbersome. I am so used to it on Nortel, but that's a different animal.
Is the user guide the same for the SV9100 and the SL1100? I will check that out.

There are a few ways to change names.

You can use the feature code (700) to do it from a telset

Via WebPro. With that error, try a different browser and you will probably have better luck.

Via PcPro. Actually easiest way. Can change to "Form View" and it lists all the extension names in order. Can quickly scroll through them, and PcPro will also let you copy the name field where WebPro won't. Handy if you just want to erase the default STA XXX display.

User guides between the 9100 and 1100 are different. Feature codes are the same but as the sets are different, the manuals refer to different button configurations.
