I have a problem when connecting to a printer from a Win XP SP3 box.
The XP box is not a domain member and the user account on the Xp box is local admin, not domain member.
This is what I do:
Log on as local admin on XP box
Browse to In the login prompt shown I use a domain user account
The printers web page is shown
I select a printer and click on Connect
Answer Yes on the question regarding printer connection
Now a box called Configure Internet-port is displayed
There are three alternatives, 1=Anonymous, 2=Used the credentials used when accesing the web printers site, 3=Used a specified account and password
If I use #1 I get an error message saying that I do not have permission to use the printer
If I use #2 I get same error message as for #1
If I use #3 the printer driver is installed and I can use the printer
My problem here is that I do not want to type the same credentials a second time, I would like to be able to use alternative #1 or #2.
Is it possible configure the print system this way?
If so, how do I do that?
