Using a PC and IE 5.5 with a lot of memory. For no apparent reason the website Excite, which I use a lot, stopped downloading correctly. It works slowly and not all the images load completely anymore. Some areas on a page says the page cannot be found and some images won't
load at all and just an X appears. But, the site is usable. At first I thought it was a problem with the new DUN ISP, but I tested other sites and they downloaded as usual for the most part. I did notice similar problems on the MSN site. I have deleted relevent cookies and deleted the cache, but that didn't work. The whole thing is very
annoying. I can still use the site, but, it's a bit frustrating doing so now. So, it's more of a challenge to fix then anything, but I have the site setup for all my interests and don't want to switch to another portal.

Has anyone encountered a problem like this before? Suggestions? Did I do something wrong on accident?

Thanks.

How's your anti-virus? Could be a bug of some kind.

Did you do the latest Microsoft security updates? One of them changed the way I.E. recognizes and logs onto sites. If so, try un-installing them to check. You could also upgrade to I.E.6.

This happened before I did any of the latest updates and I tried the repair function, too. At the time the problem started the only change was that against my will, my ISP changed, so I thought maybe the new one taking over was hokey. I might try IE 6.
