Web page, SQL, and Crystal??? 2

New to Crystal, so please forgive me.

I want to be able to pass paramters from a web page to a crystal report (that pulls info from MS-SQL).

Example: A teacher goes to a web page and selects a student's name from a list. A report on the student's grade is shown.

I know that Crystal can process SQL stored procedures and parameters, but how do I pass them from a web page. If anyone has any real examples, that would be great!!!

The URL call from the web page can be used to pass selection cryteria for you.

http://<host>/<path>/report.rpt?sf={fieldname}=studentname

if the context of the report has a parameter, then note that they are addressed as value0= then value1= and so on.

Instead of directly modifying the selection filter (as suggested by Thomas) you could also create your report with parameters and pass that values from the URL:

http://<host>/<path>/report.rpt?param0=studentname
