Yet another web site review. I'll try to make it worthwhile by giving stars for thoughtful comments...

Doing this for a college bud. Some of the content is just filler. The layout is CSS but I haven't verified it on anything but Gecko, IE6 and a quick glance on IE5.

I appreciate any feedback!

Hi,

Your site looks good, I like what you are doing to it, however is doesn't work with, mozilla, ns-4, ns-6, and in Opera 6 the link buttons aren't quite high enough.

Why are you using DIV's for everything?

Hope this helps!

Looks and functions exactly the same in IE6 as in Mozilla 1.3a.

My thoughts would be to try and push the links more towards the right side of the screen, they just seem too out of the way and in their own little nook up there.

Just my two cents.

I like it!

Only viewing it in IE6 only but I think it looks great.
Only comments for improvement I might have would be to move the sub-headers in the content sections a little lower, it's especially noticeable on "faqs", Add a little bit more space between paragraphs too.
Also, add a copyright notice.
The green center bar hits the end of the page on all pages except the front page, i presume you'll be adding more content anyway but make sure it hits the end there too.
The bottom photo on "faqs" look like they are going to the toilet! :)

I thought the web page looked good. The only thing I would say is that it would be nice if you clicked on the pictures on the left hand side that something would happen. Maybe enlarging the picture and a bit of description about what we're looking at (a bit like the busted valves picture).

Will they have email or anything? It would be a nice touch on the contacts page if there was a link to email and maybe a textbox on the faq's page that allws the user to submit a question.

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Always good to have peer feedback.

SPYDERIX, if you don't mind could you be more specific about what didn't work? (The divs are there to divide the page into segments: banner, content, nav, etc.)

Hi petey,

Here are screenshots of what is going on:

[Mozilla:]

[NS4:]

[NS6:]

[Opera 6:]

The reason I asked you why you use DIV's is b/c it looks like the positioning isn't browser-compatible across the board. You could just as easily make that using tables and would probably be easier to do. You could keep your one div for the explanations at the top, but use tables for the rest. Just my opinion.

Hope this helps!

I enjoy the fact that you have a subtitle saying exactly what your company does to a visitor. "Your Complete Valvetrain Specialist" this way people know right away if they have to continue or if unsure click the back button.

Three things I believe you could improve upon.

1. Shorten the texts wherever you can.
2. Give the users some indication of where your services are offerred preferably on the front page.
3. Provide a map in the contact area so people can find you easier (some map services offer link support).

Other than that I like your usage of DHTML to highlight the links and give people an idea of what is behind the link. I do like the graphic art on the site.

Nicely done. It's looking good. Gary Haran

Looks like older versions of Gecko are botching a style rule. Thanks for the screenshots Spyderix, you didn't need to go to all that trouble, but it's helpful nonetheless. I think I know what I need to do to fix it.

As for tables, I view them as a crutch, and if I can limp along or even walk without them, I just might. Need to strengthen those CSS tendons! :)

Nice job Petey!
Looks good to me on IE5. I like how you have set up the text to display onMouseOver.
