Hello,

Out company is going to be changing our name at the end of the month. I need to set up the new FQDN that our customers will be typing in their browsers to resolve to the IP address(or webpage) of the site that we are currently using. How would I go about doing that?

Example: Mycompany.com is currently our company name and website. We are changing the name to MyNewCompany.com

How do I set it up so when MyNewCompany.com is typed into any internet browser, it gets directed to the Mycompany.com page?

I imagine I have to set up some type of DNS redircet, but how would I go about doing that?

Thanks for your help.

I think you can just create an entry in your DNS start of authority to point to the IP address of your existing server. Example:

49.200.200.179
49.200.200.179

Basically, no matter what name they type in, it directs them to the same server. That is of course, you are wanting to keep the same server and are just changing the HTML code (like graphics and logos and such).

You'll need to create a new zone - mynewcompany.com and just point the www. host to the 49.200.200.179
