Does anyone know how to get around this problem:
Im using FrontPage2000 and I have created a Web page.

When I uploaded the page and viewed it on my screen it looks fine. I tested it by viewing it from a different comp and it was fine as well

I tested further and viewed it from yet another comp and the format was all over the place.

The tables that I had entered my text and images in were everywhere. I made the tables in my web white so they look invisible, but on the computer I tested it on they are black.

Thanks in advance!

Were they all viewed on the same browser?

hi chazmania
Why don't you answer when somebody ask you something and a little thanks when you get an answer!!!

Soum,

For your information I was trying to find out the answer to xwb's question. I'm sure if xwb had a problem with me not answering promply enough he/she would of posted something.

In future I would appreciate it if you didn't comment on my posts unless you have something worth while or useful to say.

Thank you.

xwb,

I have checked the web browser that I tested the web page on and as you pointed out it was being viewed in a different browser.

As it is a web page and multiple people will be viewing the page is there anyway of getting around them problem?

Thanks for your previous advice.

1) Have you tried putting the different components in tables? This will normally sort out the alignment problems. Sometimes, you need to have tables within tables.

2) You may be able to get away with div and span if you don't want to use tables. They're ok if you don't have any dynamic behaviour.

3) Do you have access to the other browsers. Normally if it works on IE and Mozilla, you've covered most of the problems. If it works on Mozilla, it will normally work on Netscape. I don't know about opera or the AOL browser.

Alternatively, can you NetMeeting or remote desktop (XP Pro Only) to the user's PCs which have the problem browsers?

xwb,

Great advice - thanks.
I've checked all of the computers that my page is going to viewed on and they all have Internet Explorer. The page is for internal use now (intranet) and will not be uploaded onto the www.

So I've taken your advice and checked all of the components on the page are in tables and they are organised correctly.

It seems to be working just fine now.
Thanks very much for your help!
