Web Interface app launch properties

Hi all,

I have a problem which is proving v. difficult to find a solution to. I wonder if anyone can help.

The problem is that we have some users with multiple monitor setups. Some users will try to launch the application in seamless mode, but when they do, the app window appears off one screen i.e. you can only see perhaps the top corner of the window. You then need to drag the window onto the screen and maximise it. For some users, the window actually appears off the screen altogether! It seems to be limited to particular video cards and there is no possibility of changing them. I know there were fixes for multiple monitor issues in the v9 and 9.1 client, but unfortunately, there is change control on the desktops and we can only use v8.

Does anyone know how to specify the co-ordinates of a window? Any other thoughts on how to get around this.

Have you tried alunching this as a percentage of desktop?

I run Multi Monitor config and this always seems to alunch fine but i have experienced similar problems when trying to launch seamless full screen.

Thanks for the reply Mike. Unfortunatly, this will launch the application in a window, as opposed to seamless. This doesn't suit our application, as it creates pop-up alerts. If the application is running in a window, the window will have to be in the foreground in order for the user to see the pop-up. This is not suitable for typical application usage. Cheers though. All suggestions welcome!

You can alunch seamless window apps as a percentage of desktop....

I will go an have a check on a server farm of ours that does exactly that and come back to you with all the settings if you like?

Thanks Mike. You're right of course - Doh! To be honest, I dont think it's so much the size of the window as the position it opens in, but anything is worth a try. Thanks for your help.

The % of screen size naturall centres the window with 1/2 of X% top/bottom/left/right as free space.

Might do the trick?

Thanks for the help Mike. Unfortunately, this still didn't work - the app is still appearing off the screen. Bonkers! I'm putting it down to a peculiarity of the video card/monitor setup. Cheers.
