Greetings,

I am having fun with Presentation Server 4.0 Access Suite and Web Interface. I have tried to reinstall all products but when uninstalling the AS console it does not rest its configuration. Old applications are still listed.

The current error is in AS console when trying to create or manage the WI site:

The configuration file(s) for this site could not be read.

I am not able to delete the site nor create a new site nor management WI.

I am not looking forward to blowing $400 on an incident when their uninstaller does not remove all traces correctly. Very upsetting.

Thanks in advance.
Jason

I don't know a lot about this AS console, but I remember vaguely (might be nothing to do with it at all) about having to re-add the administrator account to manage it.

No harm in checking as it's weekend and not a lot of people about at the board. You might get a better answer tomorrow.

Good luck :)

First issue was I had to uninstall all metaframe apps besides licensing.

I also had to manually remove

hklm\software\citrix (primary key is \citrix\web interface\4.0\sites.

Next I removed .net, asp, and j#.

Reinstalled. All working, I was able to create a new site and customize, working fine.

Next, I ran microsoft update and applied all critical security updates. Now WI is not longer working but getting the following error.

Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

I also noticed that two services are failing to start due to logon issues:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000

Time: 9:23:43 AM
User: N/A
Computer: Citrix Server
Description:
The Citrix SMA Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not start due to a logon failure.

Event Type: Error

Computer: CTX-PSCC
Description:
The Citrix SMA Service service was unable to log on as .\Ctx_SmaUser with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Service: Citrix SMA Service
Domain and account: .\Ctx_SmaUser

This service account does not have the necessary user right "Log on as a service."

User Action

Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.

If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed, a Group Policy object associated with this node might be removing the right. Check with your domain administrator to find out if this is happening.

I assume it was a .net security update that blew this up. I had applied the latest rollout and no fix.

Any Ideas?

Jason
