Web Hosting Suggestion

Last summer I secured a domain name (using godaddy) that I planned to use down the road. I'm now ready to start building my site. But unfortunately, cash is a bit tight right now.

I know that there are plenty of free hosting sites out there. I'm looking for suggestions on a free OR low cost hosting service which offers PHP and MySQL (or Postgres) with no ads.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ron

Dreamhost.com

Google for some coupons using a query like: dreamhost coupon discount

They are great. Quite transparent pricing, too.

Steer clear of YetiHost. They used to be good when they were Fresh Look Hosting, but now they're a bunch of useless cowboys who can't even work out how to install an SSL.

The host I currently use a lot is Site5 and they're hosting packages are cheap, but good quality.

Has anyone had any luck (good or bad) hosting with 1and1?
