Recently someone posted a link to a site that discussed the pros and cons of a variety of major web host services. I don't remember which forum it was in but I think this one or html/css. If you know of a site like this can you post it? I am looking to switch hosts but I don't know where to begin.

Don't be fooled by these type of sites. They are listed in order of how much they pay for their affiliate programs and the owner knows it is in their best interest to list the highest payers at the top of the list.

I like Web Hosting Jury for hosting reviews. You never really know about hosting review sites, but this one is the most credible I've seen so far. They claim not to take money from hosting companies and base their ratings on user-submitted reviews. And many of those reviews are unequivocally bad, which is a good sign as far as objectivity goes.
