This may seem very elementary to some, but I haven't figured it out yet:

I used the wonderful "Create Web Gallery" feature on Photoshop Elements. I want to distribute this gallery on CD.

Problem is, when I copy the whole schmeer (index file, thumbnail file, and jpegs) to CD, the links don't work. I have tweaked around with the HTML code but can't figure it out.

Is there an easy way to set the Web Gallery up so that the links are right and it works on a CD?

Thanks in advance . . .

Hi,

For the HTML code you will want to make sure the image paths are correct. Using the absolute path is the best way to link to something abd get it to work, and when you use a cd the drive letter can always change depending on the persons drive. When linking use a forward slash at the beginning of the path ie: <IMG SRC=&quot;/thumbnails/img1.jpg&quot;> and <A HREF=&quot;/whatever.ext&quot;>

Does that make sense, that could be your problem. I would also make sure all the thumbnails are in one folder and the big pictures in another, and the index HTML file in the root of the CD.

Hope this helps!

Also make sure your image files are no longer than 32 characters in the name including ext. and no extraneous symbols (ie / & * % # @ ) in the filename. CD authoring programs will want to change those names. Also, no spaces in your file names. WEB browser will auto change it to %20 when looking for the file.
