What is the easiest program to use to make a web based front end for an access database?? I don't understand data access pages... front page seems to be a big pain in my butt (if i have to do it that way)... what are other good options... i started with front page because i have the software... but it's difficult to do what i want to do with it (i think, maybe i just don't know what i'm doing...)

would it be worth it to stick with front page and get a good book to help me use it?? if so, what's a good book??

Oh heck no. If you want to work with any WYSIWYG program, download a free Trial Version of Dreamweaver Ultradev from . The program is very easy to learn and setting up a connection is not very difficult at all. If you see what you like then I would recommend investing in this program. You will not be disappointed.

I would recommend using ASP or PHP to create the frontend fo the access database. Of the two, ASP is probably easier to learn but PHP is more powerful and can be used on more web servers. I would recommend buying ASP for Dummies or PHP for Dummies as these have basically taught me the languages from scratch and are incredibly easy to follow for newcomers.

Also, perhaps think about changing your database to mySql as this is much faster than access and copes better with heavy usage. Its also free, which is another plus.

Hope this is of some help :) Nick (Web Designer)

I would go with the UltraDev by Macromedia suggestion. It would really be faster than learning ASP or PHP.

The mySql suggestion is really good too.
