Web equivilant of Excel's Freeze Pane

I have quite a large report in HTML format. It's actually an ASP page that pulls data from databse.

The fact that it's soo big, means that when a user scrolls to the right, they can't see what record they are on.

I know I could use frames, but that means when I scroll down on one frame, the other one won't scroll down and so the records will not be alligned.

Any ideas how I could tackle this?

Use CSS.

has a tutorial on creating a nested floating menu, with some improvisation, you can modify it using the same rules to float across the top.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
