Web Develping Conferences/Workshops

Just wondering if anyone had any Conferences or Work shops they attended for Web Developing. I know Macromedia has a yearly conference and I'm sure Adobe does also. But wondered if there was any put on by other vendors or orgs that were of good substance.

I'm sorry, I haven't been to any good seminars about web design. I have attended a few workshops by private Macromedia Certified trainers and some vendor workshops and haven't really found anything useful.

I've learned the most from books and Google. Another good place to look, though is for local user groups in the area. Sometimes they run some good seminars or have meetings that are very helpful. Where are you located?

I didn't mean to complain. But maybe it was simply the topic. It's just I've noticed less traffic on the forum in general. And I thought there may have been a change that stimulated it.

has put on some good seminars. I've attended one by Gerry McGovern (

that discussed good information architecture and search engine optimization. I also attended one by Nick Usbourne on writing for the web which was good (although not as good as the Gerry McGovern presentation).

UIE is having a conference in October that looks really cool. It's in Cambridge, MA, though, so unfortunately, I can't go. Here's the link, if you're interested:

I've also heard really good things about the Digital Now conference put on by Fusion Productions:

I had not heard of UIE or Digital Now.

Does anyone know if the W3C put on anything?
