In designing a Web site with Publisher98 I came accross this problem - Anyone know why the vertical navigation bar produced by the Publisher Web Design Wizard will not resize heightwise? It resizes accross but whatever I try it will not resize up-down - the frame resize handles show up and on placing the pointer on the top or bottom ones shows up the label 'resize' - but a soon as one clicks on these to resize the frame handles disappear. The same applies if the Navigation bar/table is placed within a frame and connected to it - resizing this object then is OK for width but not for height - in the latter case the frame just resizes on its own leaving the Nav Bar/table unchanged. - Is there a way out of this one besides using another type of web editor - am I missing something in the proper use of Pub98 for web design - is there a web editor on the market which works in the same way as MS Publisher?
Any help appreciated

Although Publisher will create web pages, the option to do so is pretty much an afterthought that doesn't work too efficiently. Publisher overloads the HTML code with tons of unneccesary code (It LOVES nested tables) in it's efforts to duplicate your document exactly. A space or carriage return out of place that isn't obvious in the document can create dozens of extra lines of code. In all of this kludged code, things sometimes end up not working correctly.
Microsoft FrontPage has a lot of similar controls but creates code that is somewhat more streamlined...there are folks that will argue with that :). Unless you need to publish your document in both print AND html, I'd recommend looking into FrontPage. If you're wanting both versions, an alternative might be doing the print version of the document in Publisher and then creating an Adobe Acrobat version (PDF) to put on the web.
