Web Design using tables

Hello,

I am working on my website and I was told to use tables because of people us different rsolutions and its a good way to make sure it all central.

Ive got a table with 3 rows and the second row is divided into 2 parts.
I have a bmp as the background and the content is on a white background.

When i started to use tables i imported everything from Fireworks to DM MX but i have a problem there are gaps in between the different rows in the table even though i have the border to 0 and the cell padding to 0 as well.

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful,
