I'm wondering what, if any, magazines people here find to be good sources of web design information.

I thought it might be nice to create some kind of listing so other users can perhaps find new sources of info.

So, lets hear it...
Specifically, just list printed periodicals that cover web design topics.

.Net (occassionally)
Wired (occassionally - not for a while)

Foamcow Heavy Industries - Web site design in Cheltenham and Gloucester
Ham and Jam - British & Commonwealth forces mod for Half Life 2

Hrm.. For design eh?

To be honest, I don't really read anything any more.. I find that most printed articles are pretty much without substance (unless you're completely new to the entire web design thing, of course). I tend to rely on my eye to figure out what I like and don't like. But... If we're concentrating on what to read (except for the second and fourth points)...

1) The book "User Interface Design for Programmers" (
2) Design sites (not "how-to's"): (unfortunately, not up right now, but hopefully will be again soon), and sometimes even
3) Anything on color theory (I can't find a link to my favorite page right now, but this one seems pretty good:
4) The interface designers at work ;)

Me neither. Reading paper is so 20th century. :)

I'm subscribed to Computer Arts and Computer Arts Projects magazines. They're general computer design magazines rather than web design magazines, though there are often articles that focus on web design. Both contain excellent articles and news, and also some of the best tutorials I've seen for programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, 3ds Max, Maya, After Effects and many more.

They've also got an excellent website from which you can download tutorials directly. Good stuff.

I'm subscribed to Web Designer (content geared more towards designers) and am considering a subscription to .net (content more generic and includes articles for developers/code monkeys like myself!).

Foamcow, I assume your question is directed toward me. I wouldn't feel able to call myself a designer, however, I must say that the magazine is certainly better than the website!

To be fair, the Web Designer magazine changed hands a few months ago (from Highbury Entertainment to Imagine Publishing) so I presume a more comprehensive website will follow.

P.S. I assume you got past the initial screen. The link I should have provided was

Regarding good sources of online information, I find sitepoint very helpful.
