Ok first off I am sorry as I have done the research and I hate it when people post the same ??'s over and over. I know there is tons of info on hitcounters, traffic, etc. The only problem I am seeing is that everyone says to let the ISP track the traffic etc. etc.

However, I am hosting this site on a intranet. So my question is this:

Are there any free or very cheap quality (oxymoron) traffic analysis tools which can be used internally. I was looking at statcounter however you have to log into that and I don't think it would be able to analyze traffic within my company firewall. Has anyone had any experience with a good tool that they can share with me ??

thanks,

T

There are two that I have used (and recommend):

Analog is a great free tool that I used in a Windows/Apache/Tomcat/mySQL intranet environment... it creates reports off the web site log files.

AWStats is another one that I implemented on the same site -- it is based on Perl (and requires you install Perl) and has a wonderful web interface allowing realtime/on demand web log stat analysis.

Cheers,
Jeff
