web client installation issues

I have installed the web client on a server 2003 machine. The MSS has been successfully added and all connectivity tests have passed. However, when I attempt to update the user list, I can't seem to download the list from the MSS. Any suggestions on what I can check on to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by download the list? You don't download a list to the Web Server. The only thing the update does is update names of users that have already logged on and used the web message server.

OK....so, how does a user log in to the web client? Do they use their credentials that is set up on the MM server itself?

server name\webmsg and then they enter their mailbox number and password.
