Hi... I'm having a small problem with the Symposium Web Client and I was hoping someone could help me out.
Everything works fine when I set the security setting in Internet Explorer "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to "Enable". The problem is, if I set that setting to "Prompt", and then click Yes whenever Explorer prompts whether to allow ActiveX interaction on a given page, basically the client hangs. If I wait long enough, either nothing happens or I get this error message:
"A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive."
Does anyone know why this is? Shouldn't there be no difference whether I select "Enable" for the ActiveX setting, or select "Prompt" and then click Yes whenever the IE prompt pops up? Is this a bug in the web client?
It's company policy to have this setting at "Prompt" so that's why it's a problem. I'm running Symposium Web Client 4.5 - SU 05, Build: 04.05.005.02. If someone can shed light on this issue, I'd be most grateful.
Thanks,
Gordo
