Hello,
I work at a place that has a server running Debian with 10 pcs (win 98) networked to it. In the last few weeks, browsing the web (Using IE) has become a nightmare.
Some of the problems are:
1. Trying to access a url via the address bar results in an MSN search. The site may be accessed only via the link suggested. The address entered is correct. This seems to be random, though worse on some PCs
Actually, that's the main one. We ran adaware on the PCs which resulted in a big cleanout.
THe windows updates have been installed.
Norton Anti Virus Corporate edition has been updated and run...no viruses. This was a problem...couldn't update Norton, but the adaware cleanup allowed us to.
We did have a virus attack on the Win PCs a month ago or so, but as far as I am aware they were removed correctly.
Hopefully they are getting a tech in as I have to work there and teach people how to use the internet...!
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?
