Greetings, looking for a custimizable web based quote program that allows people to enter new quotes, redo old ones, and output them in a printable format. Does anyone know about anything like this thats out there?
Have a wise look at that question and tell us what info you're missing, or do we just use osmosis cause we's been at keyboards so long we *MUST* understand ...
After that, show what effort you've placed into to resolving *your* issue, and we'll see what happens ... prolly jack without effort

Howdy, sorry should have been more clear I guess what im looking for is "estimator" software. I basically want it to ask user a bunch of questions and spit out an "estimate" based on those questions, thanks for the help though
Zugdud, what Paul was referring to is that this is not a "get a free script" forum. Tek-Tips is a place to get help with a script you already have. If you don't have one, it's assumed that you've already done your homework on the many search engines as well.
There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!
Yeah, well I did my share of searching all the script sites and came up empty handed. This is why I posted here, I was hoping that someone here had come across a script out there that does sort of what I am looking for, I never said please give me a free script or implied that I was looking for free stuff. Just wanted to know if anyone KNEW of a place to buy/get a script like I described I would gladly pay upwards of ~$1,000 if there was a site out there selling said software but meh I didn't have any luck finding any so im just making it myself using php, mysql, fpdf.
you got me on a nasty night, loads of people looking for free stuff - clients, go get some ... /end rant
I didn't mean to be rude, but if there's no effort displayed, I can't just write "Could try harder" now could I...[that series of school reports will never leave me, and it's made me stronger...and I didn't try any more .. I achieved] - one for the Gipper??
If you want help, even thinking how to get started, just ask, but please, please don't start with ...
Looking for ...
These scripts are usually available FOC, and under GNU, on the understanding that it will encourage people to look under the hood and not just see, but understand whats going on because they're driven to understand their environment. /end pet rant
Talk again

I think you might struggle to find something ready-made, it sounds quite specialised. You're still not really giving us much data to play with. What line of business are you in? What kind of quote requests are you likely to get, and have you worked out a solid formula to provide those quotes automatically?
If you want to have a go at writing such a script yourself, there are people here to help you out if you get stuck. If it's simply a matter of collecting numbers from the prospect, slotting them into a formula and spitting out a quote, it shouldn't be too difficult. If it's more involved than that there are sites out there where you can find freelance programmers to do stuff for you. Not having used one, I can't make recommendations.
