I dont know if this is exactly the appropriate place for this, but I have many questions about configuring and using internet based discussion forums.
I know the products, such as phpbb2, ivb, or web wizard for asp which i am trying to use at work.
My question is if there is some resource on line that can explain this in detail, from start to finish.
Mainly I keep seeing how I need to incorporate a database on my webhost, and I dont know if i am to create this host myself or if the software comes with one, I just n eed to learn this from start to finish, and if there is a resource online that can show me that, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Webhost = web server. Apache is a free web server which runs on linux and windows.

If you go to buy web hosting, most include database access. Google 'web hosting' - you'll find a long list of service providers. They provide the database (MySQL is a typical db for a PHP provider) and a control panel to set it up.

Most BB software will contain detailed instructions for setting it up - there is no golden bullet, as they're all different.

I think your best bet is the websites of companies that make these products. Usually they use their own discussion forum for people to post questions and answers regarding installation.
