Hey All,

we just rolled out a new back office at our firm. About 2/3 of our FAT apps were replaced with web based clients. Many of these programs are using NT authentication so we are not expected to have to log in each time. If a login box does appear we found the trusting the sites has helped...but sometimes the login box is persistent and it never actually logs the user in(though their account is good)

We have found that a local profile rebuild on the PC fixes it but we don't want to have to do this all the time.

Any ideas on the browser level? These are all IE6 on XP

Try also:
Enable BasicAuth in SP2 by adding the following registry key and setting it to a non-zero value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters\

Create a new DWORD value "UseBasicAuth"
Set the value of this new key to 1

Reboot your machine and test.

thanks...this is really helpful info. and looks very relevant to our problems. I will let you know how this turns out.
