I've seen lots of kinda similar threads to this one describing permission problems with OLAP cubes but I think this one is a little different.
I already have a cube that I can view fine through a web page (username/password/domain authenticated). I have added another cube (different data source this time) to the same machine, run the cube fine, added web-access to this new cube using the same method and I get this connection error message when I try to access it:
The pivot table list "CatalogueName" could not connect to the data source "CubeName". For information about the data source, consult the creato of the file.
0x8004005 Access Denied.
Whats really confusing me is that this message comes up on some PC's here at the office - but other machines can view this new cube fine.
Unfortunately the laptop we need to use to demonstrate OLAP can't see the new cube.
On the machines that can't see the new cube, they can view the older cube fine.
Both cubes have exactly the same roles set-up on them, and as far as I can see both websites have the same permissions etc.
In each case of working & not working machines, the same user is logged (both with local administrator privelidges, both have PTSfull.exe installed.
Seems like its a combination of local PC settings and something else.
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks
