I'm looking to set up a web page that can access/update information on a sql server database. I need to work on this at home, and can't seem to get anything to work properly (asp, php, haven't had time to dig much into cold fusion). I'm looking for some input...what would you recommend, as far as ease of setting up on a local machine that's not set up as a web server.

I'm using Windows 2000 and have SQL Server set up locally, along with backups of work databases. I'm familiar with SQL, Crystal Reports, and have some background (though not much) in HTML. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, all.

Thanks for responding, svanels.

Just a follow up for anyone having similar problems... In one of the PHP posts there was this link . They have a php install that installs PHP w/ Apache & MySQL. Configures everything. Finally have PHP up and running. It seems all I've heard is right...PHP is heroic. What a ball.
