Hi,
We have a mailbox in Exchange 2003 whose calendar is open read-only to the rest of the company. This is a resource mailbox.
I'm looking for a way to make the calendar available to users as a web link. this should/may require for the users to authenticate to access the calendar through OWA.

Any hint is appreciated.

Thanks,
Leonard

Here is another suggestion. Same principal as posted by cbsarge. I added some detail as I don't like to place server names in the URL. If the is for Intranet, use the public folder server. If for both Intanet and Internet, use your front end server.
1. Created a Callendar on our public folder server for the department.
2. From Exchange System Manager -> navigated to public folder servername -> Protocols -> HTTP -> Exchange Virtual Server -> right-click and choose new -> virtual directory.
3. Name the new virtual directory and in the Exchange path choose Public Folder radio button, click modify an navigate the tree to the callendar you created.
You can do the steps above on any Exchange Server in your org. I chose the public folder server as the callendar was being used internally.
4. I placed a DNS CNAME pointing Sales to the public folder server.
5. On the intranet site we placed a link to This opens the callendar in monthy view as requested by our clients.

What if the calendar already exists for a resource like a Conference Room for example? Is there a way to share the calendar of a resource - technicly a user - in this way?

I have not attempted this yet, so I can't say yes or no. If the user (resource) is OWA enabled, I would imagine there is a way to link to the URL...

This link will display the calendar:

although the user is prompted to log into OWA.

Also, it would be nice if the calendar was view only from this page.

I did try the public folder route you outlined and then set up a rule on the existing resource mailbox to send a copy of all meeting requests to the public folder. This mostly worked but (missed a few events but, that could be figured out in the rules), the public folder version would still need to be read only so people on the intranet wouldn't screw with the calendar and get them out of sync.

We're close, soooooo close!

From Exchange System Manager -> Public Folder server -> protocols -> HTTP. Check the authentication on the virtual directory. I have mine set for Basic and Integrated. This should stop the pop-up request for logon. But, only for those users who have rights to the callendar...
