I fixed our problem with the iusr_account and set anonymous login. Should I also set a basic and challenge/response authentication? When connecting to the site while in the building the access is working properly but I just tried while at home and have not been getting a response at all. Pinging also times out. Should I set permissions for the iusr_account on the Inetpub/ directory? If so what permissions should be placed there?

you may set a basic'n challenge/response but carefull as it asks for actual domain password without encryption and anyone can get it with a protocol analyzer. instead make IUSR_ a member of the domain user group. set permissions of for domanin users to change\read(safer) and make sure if possible that your server space is not shared and nowhere you have permissions for everyone set to full control.
now you may try ftp(if exists) logon to see whether it works ? as for ping getting timed out i believe you are using DUN and the problem lies in the fact that responses from your server(wplace) is not getting routed to your end. 'coz you have a temp ip address from your ISP and your ISP won't route the packets(ping) from your server to your end. remember everytime you dialup you get a diff. address.
hope this helps you.. wiedersehn
