Hi.

Recently, I overheard someone mention that it was possible for our web access users to bring up their workstation GW client instead of the web access client. Most of our GroupWise users are new to the product and are having real issues when they use web access and see a different screen than the one that they're used to seeing. I thought he said that there was a Novell TID that explains how to do it, but I haven't been able to find anything on it.

Any help or suggestions would be (and is) greatly appreciated!

You can use the full GroupWise client to access e-mail from remote locations or use GroupWise remote. I would suggest that you limit both to "permanent" locations like remote offices or home and that have more that dialup Internet access. For example, at home (cable modem) I use the regular GroupWise client to connet to the office GroupWise system. There are some things to be aware of or require additional configuration:
1) Using the GroupWise client remotely provides no encryption of the traffic between the POA and the client.
2) If you have a firewall, you would need to open port 1677 to the GroupWise server.

The nice thing about Webaccess is that there is no software installation required on the remote end - just Internet access and a Web browser.
